Wow, what an adventure this new turn in our lives has been.
Last year 2016, Alex sold Indulgence and purchased Gipsy. At this time last year he was climbing aboard yachts and scouring the internet, Gipsy was a total head turner and exactly what he had been looking for. She fitted all of our criteria and we have zero boat envy now that we are the proud owners of this fabulous 43′ Jeanneau Deck Saloon. Her previous owners were two of the most beautiful people we have met and their love for this boat was evident by her fabulous condition. They have moved on to a new adventure on Gipsy 5 over in Europe.
So now we are planning to head up north for Alex’s 5 weeks of annual leave and relocate Gipsy to a new sailing ocean around the Great Keppels for winter.
It has been a whirlwind of a year with many upgrades and updates to meet the requirements of insurance and Australian standards.
Learning to sail, well, a challenge but one that we have been up for. We have heeled over and spilled wind, had rope burns and jammed winches, run aground and run aground, bumped along the channel and sailed in the channel, been whale watching and had dolphins starboard surfing, and pretty well getting the hang of this living the life aboard.
I intend to post a bit more, combining blessings in a lunchbox and >Gipsy in the one blog.
Stay tuned for our sailing adventure.
